The Parade
Christmas Parades

What are the
Christmas Parades?
Every December, Amherst Dance Academy is proud to join our local communities in celebrating the holiday season by dancing in the Christmas parades. These festive events fill the streets with holiday cheer, music, and lights as local groups, businesses, and performers come together to spread joy. For our dancers, it’s a chance to step outside the studio, share their love of dance with the community, and become part of a cherished small-town tradition.

Why You Should Join
Participating in the Christmas parades is a fun and memorable experience for dancers of all ages. It helps students grow in confidence, practice performance skills in a new setting, and bond with their classmates outside of class. Families love watching their dancers light up the street with holiday spirit, and students get to showcase their hard work while creating memories they’ll never forget. It’s not just about dancing — it’s about being part of something bigger and spreading joy to everyone watching.

What’s Included & When Are They?
For just $25 per dancer, students who participate in the parades will learn fun, festive choreography to perform as we march through the community. Rehearsals will be held on two Wednesdays in November to help dancers feel confident and prepared. The parades are scheduled for Sunday, December 1 at 4:00 p.m. in Appomattox and Friday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Amherst. Costume details and other important information will be shared in advance. This is a wonderful opportunity for our dancers to shine, spread holiday cheer, and for families to enjoy a beloved tradition — complete with a cup of hot cocoa!
